The safest way to dig around underground utilities and pipelines.

A hydrovac truck uses high-pressure water to loosen the dirt and a powerful vacuum to pull it into a tank. Nothing metal gets near the line, so you can see exactly what's down there before anyone puts a bucket in the ground.

Learn about hydrovac

Avoid utility strikes

No damaged lines, service outages, injuries or liability claims.

Precise and fast

Dig small, exact holes or long trenches with less restoration afterward.

Works in any soil

Clay, rock, sand and frozen ground, with heated water for winter work.

Reach anywhere

Long hose runs dig up to 300 feet from the truck.

The same standard at every branch.

The crew that shows up is trained the way every Pro-Vac crew is trained, and they're held to the same standards as the entire company. Every branch reviews its performance daily and every job has a project leader for accountability on site and at the office.

Questions we hear often.

Still have questions?
Call (888) 565-5665.

What is hydrovac excavation?

It's a non-destructive way to dig. Pressurized water loosens the soil and a vacuum lifts it into a debris tank, which exposes buried lines without damaging them.

Is hydrovac safer than digging with a backhoe?

Yes. Nothing metal goes near the line, so the common causes of a strike are off the table. Many utility owners and general contractors now require it near live infrastructure.

How fast can you get a truck to my site?

Tell us the location and the scope and a dispatcher will confirm availability. With 225+ trucks across 22 locations there is usually a crew within reach of your site.

Do you work in winter?

Yes. Our trucks run heated water, so frozen ground is a normal winter job rather than a reason to wait for a thaw.

Can you handle large or multi-site projects?

Yes. Every job gets a project owner who stays with it from the request through the cleanup, and that holds whether it is one hole or a program running across several sites.
