Commitment to Safety at Pro-Vac: Protecting Our Team and Communities

Aug 31, 2023

Safety is at the forefront of Pro-Vac operations, ensuring not only the well-being of our team members but also the communities we serve.

At Pro-Vac, the commitment to safety commences on day one. New hires undergo a comprehensive two-day Pro-Vac training during their orientation. During this period, they are educated about the safety processes specific to the company's work, relevant regulations, and the proper use of safety equipment, including air monitors and tripods. This initial training sets the foundation for a safety-conscious workforce.

Pro-Vac doesn't stop at theoretical knowledge; we believe in hands-on, in-depth training. New hires are thoroughly trained to understand every aspect of their work. After their initial training, employees spend an additional 30 to 90 days working closely with lead operators. This mentorship ensures that they are comfortable with the tasks and can demonstrate their understanding before working independently. The duration of this mentorship varies depending on how quickly team members adapt to their roles, ensuring no one is rushed into the field prematurely.

The core purpose of Pro-Vac's business is to provide a safer method of excavation and preventative maintenance for stormwater systems. By doing so, we can prevent long-term damage that can have severe consequences for communities. Overflowing catch basins can lead to flooding, sinkholes, and other hazards. Pro-Vac's commitment to safety is not just about complying with regulations but also about safeguarding the public and communities they serve.

What sets Pro-Vac apart is their commitment to continuous improvement through in-depth trend analysis. While incidents are never desired, Pro-Vac goes the extra mile when they occur. They conduct root cause analyses, categorizing incidents meticulously. This allows us to identify trends and focus on core issues. By doing so, we can make targeted improvements to our safety programs, ensuring that they have a meaningful impact on preventing incidents in the future.
